Hi everyone at Clearwater’s Fab Lab,

Please can you send more information about your fablab for the approval process. Please remember that the idea of this whole process is to create networks, share thoughts, ideas and have contact with the other fablabs, at least with the referees.

Looking forward for your update.

Best,

Hello Matias!

Thank you for reaching out! We are very eager to be part of the community. By having the lab in an independent school, we are very fortunate to have many resources to share with the global and local community. As part of our offerings, we will have classes in prototyping and fabrication, 3D Printing and modeling, robotics, and more. On April 1st, we are having an “Engineering Day”, where we are opening the facility to the local community for lessons and demonstrations. We would be honored to be able to say we are officially part of the Fab Lab community! We will hold many similar events throughout the year providing access to the facility. Our summer camps are open to all students.

Our staff of educators is well networked locally and globally. Recently, I networked with hundreds of educators at the FETC and ISTE Conferences, sharing resources and ideas. In 2015, I conducted workshops on developing a makerspace at the CTEC Conference. The school has many successful alumni in the technology field that contribute time and materials to the lab, as well as conduct guest lectures.

The new blog, www.saintpaulsfablab.org will be updated with ongoing projects and ideas from the lab. It already does well in Google search results when “Fab Lab Clearwater” is used as a search term, allowing local people to find us.

Thanks again for your consideration!
