Discussion about UTRGV FABLAB

Housed primarily in the jewelry studio within the School of Art, Visual Arts Building the UTRGV FABLAB aims to make technology both physically and intellectually accessible for educators, students, and citizens of the Rio Grande Valley. Applied activities will foster education, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the region, benefiting from, and contributing to the larger DIY “maker movement.” Due to our location within the visual arts we focus on interdisciplinary projects involving collaboration between STEAM areas which are historically separate, such as the College of Engineering and Computer Science, the School of Medicine, and the School of Art.
Currently, the FABLAB is moving forward in increments noting our challenges principally on the topics of intellectual property and use of funds and secondarily on public access.

This is the general thread for discussing the lab; the thread is also visible on its page at https://www.fablabs.io/labs/utrgvfablab

Greetings,

I’m new to the postings and I am attempting to start a lab. I have gotten rejected by a referee but cannot see why? Can we update our information or get feedback? The links that were supplied do not lead anywhere but the main page. If anyone is reading and knows more, help? Any advice is welcome.

Many thanks,

If anyone sees this please help! I am still trying to get my lab approved and can’t update anything until that happens. Thank you!

@donnasweigart,

You need to get in touch with your referees and ask them to approve you or which information do they need in order to do that.

My advice, insist, like A LOT. That’s what i did back in the day.

Good luck!
