I’ve been working with some really good people, and we hope/intend to establish a MakerSpace along a Fab Lab model in South Auckland, Aotearoa (NZ).
This is still very early days, but we’re in a co-design process with other groups & organisations - stakeholders if you will - around projects, programmes & activities, and what’s needed in such a space support them.
I’m entering the latter practical phase of my Masters research project, and plan to apply what I’ve learnt - and continue to learn - to this place, and co-develop a model that we can apply elsewhere to help empower communities to establish such resources of their own.
This one will have a strong indigenous kaupapa (value system); it is my impression that this will make this resource more inclusive and accessible.
