I have recently been asking around for ways other labs track student progress and learning outcomes in Mobile Fab Labs. From what I’ve gathered, not many MFL operators track students’ progress or attendance in their MFL programs, for one reason or another. Usually our grant requirements require at the minimum recording of student information, and occasionally some form of outcome tracking.
What I’d like to ask people here is this: When working with K-12 students, how does your Fab Lab track student progress and outcomes? Is there a system you use? If you don’t track student progress, why not?
