A small container, used to keep dry wood samples dry in a very humid environment

Wood will be dry from moisture, but my question is that can we try to make a box which keep wood dry when box is in rain, high rain , it will make more usable , it can also used for moisture in air, too.
Yes, i think by redesigning the lid with a to go over the bottom part it would be safe from rain
