Discussion about Sinestesia LIE

Thought as “a place to invent, experiment and create ideas or projects from the world of creative industries able to affect or be affected by the city or the habitable”. Sinestesia LIE seeks to be a space that exploits creativity, invention and innovation based on collaborative work.

Sinestesia LIE is an invitation to projects or ideas related to architecture, art, design, science, communication, social innovation and technology (to name a few) that are looking for a space to work, learn, teach, invent something or solve a problem.

We have: Two 3d printer machines, one laser cuting machine, one vinyl cuting machine, small thermoform machine, a termo sealing machine and hand tools in aworkshop for digital and analog manufacturing; a space dedicated to electronics, circuits and creative programming; another to textile experimentation; and also have private offices, shared rooms and multiple rooms for those who want to join.

One of the objectives of Sinestesia LIE is to create a creative community, robust practice in other countries but incipient in Chile, although every day there are more people and companies dedicated to exploring the creative economy, the ecosystem is dispersed. For the same reason, since a year ago we are giving courses and workshops in order to share what we know and learn from what we dont know, to do this we invite our resident to share his knowledge trough courses, and in the topics that we don’t have resident, we invite other professors and professionals.
The courses taught during 2017 and begining of 2018, was about interactivity, digital manufacturing, mapping, 3D scanning, creative programming and physical computing, and the agenda for seccond semester of 2018 is being prepared with new themes and collaborations.

In addition, we seek to generate meeting instances, for example, each course closes with a open meeting on Sinestesia LIE, where the results of the participants are presented but also the members of the national and international creative industry are invited to share and exhibit their work.
